A little about us...

In 1977, our company began with only two people and few pieces of used bindery equipment in 1,500 square feet of rented space. Today, we are a leading bindery serving the Pacific Northwest. Rapid Bind, Inc. now has more than forty employees, operates two shifts and utilizes 34,000 square feet of clean, efficiently organized space in Portland, Oregon.

Meet the owners:

Sue Hein, PRESIDENT
Since joining Rapid Bind in 1985, Sue has served our customers in a variety of roles, including stints in estimating and sales. She entered into the company partnership in 1992 and became Rapid Bind president in early 2004. She oversees daily company operations. Her prior experience includes stints in accounting and administrative management at both real estate firms and a prominent local newspaper. When not at Rapid Bind, she enjoys hiking, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. Sue can be reached at sue@rapidbind.com.

Russ Haines VICE PRESIDENT OF PRODUCTION
Russ began his career in the graphic arts industry at 1972. He honed his operational expertise as a print shop apprentice and brought fifteen years of prepress, print and bindery experience to Rapid Bind in 1989. After being promoted to plant manager in 1998, he became a partner in 2001. He is an archery hunter and camper who recently joined a bowling league with his oldest grandson. John Goché CHAIRMAN
John started in the graphic arts industry running a newspaper press as a teenager. Throughout his nearly 45-year career he has held a number of positions in prepress, press, bindery services and sales. After serving as president of a printing company, he purchased Rapid Bind in 1980, then a three-person operation, and presided over the company's growth into the 40-employee operation it is today. A Ben Franklin Award winner, John has been recognized by the graphic arts industry repeatedly throughout his career, including Craftsman of the Year honors. He has worked in all phases of binding and printing. Now semi-retired, John can be found fishing, on the golf course or cruising open landscapes in his Jeep.
