Almost every printed piece that hits the mailstream involves some form of gluing. Of course, many non-mailed products – including marketing kits, CD/DVD sleeves and pocket folders – require gluing as well.

Remoistenable Glue
Remoistenable glue is used for reply devices and self-mailers that are designed with a user-activated reply card. At Rapid Bind, we can perform remoistenable gluing inline for efficient production.

Fugitive Glue
Fugitive glue (also referred to as EZ release) is an effective closure for items such as double postcards, roll folds and wraparound folds. Fugitive glues are a cost-effective, unobtrusive solution to the age-old problem of keeping products sealed as they travel through the mailstream. Unlike wafer seals, fugitive glues can be detached without risk of tearing the stock.
Seam Glue
While remoistenable and fugitive glues are designed to be removed or released, seam glues are valued for the opposite property - they are designed to penetrate and tear paper fiber before releasing. One popular application is the welded seam envelope, which is a cost effective self-mailer solution. Seam glue works best when it adheres two surfaces of raw paper fiber; any interfering materials such as inks, varnishes and coatings will compromise the glue's adhesive properties.
